Hello Fireflies! I've started writing a story based on mythology and modern science. I hope you like it!

I

Mist?

Freyja had called Livora to meet her. Livora was on her way to the ring Olympus (where the gods come to meet the mortals on Earth). The ring of Olympus was a magnificent work of art. It was a crescent silver coloured moon in a fairy garden a peaceful yet intriguing   As Livora was on her way to the ring, she gulped and clutched on to her leather bag pack which her father, Chase Greyson had gifted her on her 15th birthday. It was as if her backpack was getting heavier by each step she took with great difficulty. Questions raced her mind “Did mum find out?” “How could she?” Livora’s thoughts kept circling back to the unsettling meeting with a deceit—a meeting that could change everything. Livora finally reached the ring where her mum, Freyja the goddess of love, beauty and war was waiting for her. Freyja stood in ethereal beauty. Her blue eyes beamed love and warmth she had inside her heart for her daughter. Her beautiful golden locks brushed on her face, making her look as if she descended from heavens... Livora looked at her mother with tears in her eyes- she felt the weight of her mother’s gaze on her eyes. She hid from her nothing but a deceit.

As soon as Freyja laid her eyes on Livora she told her “Livy! It’s been a long time since I’ve met you? How have you been dear?” Livora finally let out a breath she was holding. She felt so light hearted by listening to that one word from her mother, ‘Livy’, it made the difference. It made her forget all her worries and she started sobbed like a baby who hadn’t met its mom for quite some time. The dam which she built inside her finally broke and the river in her stared flowing as if it was waiting for eternity. She ran to her and embraced her letting all her emotions come out in the form of tears. As if the rain was finally able fall on this earth after winds and thunderstorms stopped it. Her mother’s arms was like a cocoon to her, a cocoon that shielded her from the weight of the world.  After a while Livora, felt better and decided to talk to her mother. She decided to tell her everything. The deceit, the unsettling meeting. The manifestations she had. She gulped in fear but thought that the only one who could help her cope was none other than her mum.

She started, “I’ve missed you so much! Falling into the Tartarus is nothing compared to living each moment without you”. As soon as the words left her lips she could see her mother’s face turning pale. Her eyes which beamed warmth and loved suddenly started beaming nothing but fear. As if she knew the turmoil brewing her daughter’s mind.  “You m-met Mist…”
